Clay: Plum Black

25lb bag of Plum Black. Cone 5 only.

What a dream to throw with! This black clay is incredibly smooth. It also trims and burnishes very well (so long as it’s not too wet). It fires to a near-black colour, showing its slight brownish hue in the sunlight. Plum Black should be fired to cone 5 only to avoid bloating.

This clay is picky about its glazes. Many with bubble and/or crawl due to high iron content, so be sure to test test test!
